by Pieter Human Visit Date:April 26, 2011 Room: Service: Facilities: Location: "There seemed to be some confusion about our confirmed booking on check-in, but we were quite happy to be upgraded to one of the bigger seaview bungalows with outside spa bath (which wasn t the cleanest). The room was spacious enough for my family of 4 (2 boys aged 10 and 7). The pool facilities were nice and clean. We loved wading in the shallow bay with goggles, but be warned - don t do this barefooted. Lots of sharp pieces of coral will soon cut your feet up + lots of spikey sea urchins. The hotel restaurant was basic but served a great panang and masaman curry - rivalling the best I ve had in Thailand over 10 years. The reception desk assisted with a local snorkeling trip which was enjoyable if a bit adventurous with a quite knackered boat. At night dining down the beach was fun. We enjoyed a memorable last night at the My Way Bar, where service was laidback but the atmosphere was priceless. All in all, we enjoyed the our first stay on Phangaan.
